SOP/NDMA
SOP stands for Standard Operating Procedure (SOP). It is a document that provides step-by-step instructions for performing a task. Its purpose is to ensure that the work is done consistently, efficiently and safely. NDMA (National Disaster Management Authority) is an agency of the Ministry of Home Affairs of the Government of India, whose job is to coordinate the work to be done in case of natural disasters or man-made disasters and to build capacity to fight them. From the point of view of children in school, they are told about its safety and protection at a small level. Methods of safety and protection from flood, earthquake, fire, traffic problem, shutdown, riot, cyber crime etc. are learnt and taught through activities like prayer meetings, CCA and in games. Demos have also been arranged in the school by the fire brigade department. Lectures have also been given on cyber crime etc. Special guest speakers have conducted classes on safety related topics for the children from time to time.
